Government Social Housing Project Planning with Housing NSW

Social Housing Projects

Various projects throughout NSW / Housing NSW

Planning Ingenuity has successfully completed over 100 projects for Housing NSW, the Aboriginal Housing Office and Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care. This includes delivery of Environmental Impact Assessment under Part 5 of the EP&A Act, 1979 for 22 medium density projects within the Hunter and Western regions of NSW under the Nation Building Economic Stimulus Project. This program operated under aggressive timeframes and required in-depth understanding of the SEPP (Affordable Rental Housing). We continue as a member of the Housing NSW Consultant Planners Panel, undertaking several residential projects each year.

Development Application for Wollongong Council

Corrimal Retail Centre

Development application assessment for Wollongong Council

On behalf of Wollongong Council, our firm undertook pre-DA and DA assessment of a development application by Valad for redevelopment of a former Council car park for a 16,000m2 retail centre with 650 car spaces within the heart of the Corrimal Village. In conjunction with GM Urban Design, we worked with the applicant and stakeholders to refine the design to integrate with the existing strip centre and to protect views to the Illawarra Escarpment. The approved development forms an integral part of the Corrimal Revitalisation Strategy and will stimulate activity within the centre.

Development Application Assessment for Burwood Council

Mixed Use Tower - 1-3 Elizabeth Street, Burwood

Development application assessment for Burwood Council

Planning Ingenuity was engaged as an independent consultant to carry out assessment of a development proposal for a high density mixed use development on a narrow allotment at the edge of the town centre. Assessment was undertaken during Council’s transition to a new Town Centre LEP and was one of the first large scale developments to set the tone for future development in the City Centre. We worked closely with all stakeholders to arrive at a scale and massing appropriate to the locality and Council’s desired future character under the new planning regime.
